Our Trustees are:

Liz Moore is Chair - Trained as a Chartered Librarian and experienced in working in public, school and college libraries at a senior level. Has also worked in estate agency, with a cosmetic company, and knitted for a designer for Harrads. Has been a resident of Abbots Langley since 1993 and involved with A/L Abbeyfield since retirement in 2003 – as volunteer housekeeper, house committee Chair, trustee and now Chair.

Matthew Bedford is Treasurer - Three Rivers District Councillor for Abbots Langley and Bedmond ward since 2014 and Lead Councillor with responsibility for Resources (Finance) and Shared Services. Matthew moved to Abbots Langley in 1989 and was also a parish councillor from 1991 to 1995. Currently works as Finance Director for the UK/Ireland subsidiary of a worldwide group that makes life-support medical and safety equipment, including manufacture of breathing apparatus in the UK. He has previously worked for organisations in both the private and voluntary sectors, always in a finance/accounting role.

Marcus Coultrup is Company Secretary and our longest serving trustee. He was employed by Thorn/EMI as a Group Accountant until his early retirement in 1999 when he Joined Abbeyfield Abbots Langley as a Trustee. Other involvements are – Planned Giving Officer at St Lawrence Church, Trustee of the Henderson Hall Trust in the village, Chairman of ‘A Heart for Abbots Langley’ and Trustee and driver for the Abbots Langley Good Neighbours Association.

Ruth Gabriel – Responsible for Residents Care and Admissions – Retired from the NHS in August 2017, having been a dietitian for 40 years. She has lived in the village for about 38 years and is Involved with the Abbots Langley Scout group and fund raising, regularly seen at jumble sales and cooking burgers!

Jeff King– Responsible for P/R and Marketing – Abbots Langley resident retired in 2016 from a long career in technology, design, marketing and consultancy. Became a part time teacher after retiring and is now involved with Demand (design for disabled) helping them with computing and electronics.

Stephen Moore – Responsible for Governance. Joined Abbeyfield West Herts in April 2019 after a career in many aspects of Information Management, firstly in public librarianship, culminating as Regional Librarian of South West Hertfordshire, then as Head of Information Resources and Customer Services for the Civil Aviation Authority, followed by Head of Records Management at NICE, and Head of Records Management and Business Continuity at the London Ambulance Service (LAS), where in 2011 he became the first Information Governance Manager at the LAS. In the voluntary sector he was Chair of Watford Citizens Advice Bureau for 10 years and is currently Secretary of West Herts Archaeological and Historical Society and a trustee of the Henderson Hall.

Kate Quinton– Responsible for HR. Kate moved to Abbots Langley in 1968 and taught Biology and Chemistry at various local secondary schools. She has been a Head of Department and also Head of Sixth Form. She first helped out at A/L
